World war 1, Gallipoli

World war 1 started on 28 of July 1914 and ended on 11 of November 1918. One of the biggest and deadliest battles was Gallipoli, with more than 130,000 casualties, 87,000 Ottomans, 44,000 Allied forces, including more than 8700 Australians. Among the dead were 2779 New Zealanders, about a sixth of all those who had landed on the peninsula, so almost 16674 Allied troops landed in Gallipoli, fought in Gallipoli, and died in Gallipoli.
